CSR & Community

This page highlights community and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives where I provided end-to-end media relations and content support, spanning long-term education investment and disaster relief. Projects include the Stronger Schools Initiative, a year-long programme benefitting the New Dawn Learning Centre, as well as the Kia Cares: Hurricane Melissa Relief Initiative, which supported recovery efforts at King’s Primary & Infant School in Westmoreland. My work across these initiatives included press strategy and coordination, writing and disseminating media materials, on-site media facilitation, and producing publication-ready photography, resulting in national coverage by the Jamaica Observer, the Jamaica Gleaner, and OUR Today.

Stronger Schools Initiative

Led media relations support for the Stronger Schools Initiative, a long-term education support programme benefitting the New Dawn Learning Centre. The initiative focuses on holistic school improvement and is funded through a dedicated contribution from vehicle sales by the ATL Automotive Group over the 2025–2026 school year. I wrote the official press release announcing the initiative, published by the Jamaica Observer and OUR Today, and produced the accompanying photography for both outlets, including coverage of a subsequent Christmas treat at the school by OUR Today.

Kia Cares: Hurricane Melissa Relief Initiative

Provided media relations support for the Kia Cares: Hurricane Melissa Relief Initiative, supporting recovery efforts at King’s Primary & Infant School in Westmoreland. The initiative repurposed the Kia Tasman pickup for on-the-ground relief, generating national coverage in the Jamaica Gleaner and the Jamaica Observer.  Coverage highlighted Kia’s community-first response in partnership with the Sandals Foundation and the Wisynco Group through its M-POWA brand. My role included managing media invitations and press coordination, facilitating media handover on site, and supplying curated, captioned imagery to the Jamaica Gleaner.
